This role is responsible for leading the Pipeline and Compression Engineering team, within the Technical Operations organization, supporting Enbridge’s Northwest Field Operations assets. This role provides leadership for teams performing the technical work required to ensure pipeline, mechanical, and Compression assets are operated and maintained safely and reliably.

What you will do:
  • Leadership and coordination for a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure excellence is delivered in the following areas:
    • Engineering analysis and design work performed in compliance to applicable codes & standards.
    • Regulatory permit requirements and industry best practices applied.
    • Technical input into the Operational Risk Management program to ensure risks are identified and mitigations effectively implemented.
    • Pipeline and Compression program objectives are implemented and monitored.
    • Risks mitigated by applying the Management of Change Program to equipment and system changes
    • Asset Management program support for equipment health and performance monitoring.
    • Equipment failure and system performance investigations completed to identify root cause.
  • Collaborates with functional teams to ensure asset performance and maintenance data is available for analysis to identify improvement opportunities to maximize system availability.
  • Provides technical support and oversight to ensure Capital projects deliver desired results.
  • Deliver technical work to meet Work and Asset Management of Change requirements.
  • Leadership support for initiatives related to engineering systems/governance, program development, asset and maintenance management, equipment reliability and health monitoring.
  • Monitor and maintain KPIs & performance within the areas of accountability.
  • Responsible to lead, mentor, and develop the engineering personnel and ensure technical oversight is in place for effective risk management.
  • Ensure team deliverables and initiatives are aligned to GTM Integrated Management system requirements.
  • Responsible for the oversight and consistent application of Compression Standards across multiple operating areas in the Northwest.
  • Fulfills the Responsible Member role as per the Westcoast Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
  • Technical recommendations delivered are relied on for safety and business critical decisions.
  • Accountable for budget performance for area of responsibility.
Who you are:
You have:
  • A university Degree in Engineering
  • Can demonstrate that you are a professional Engineer (P.Eng.) eligible for registration with APEGBC and APEGA
  • 10 years’ experience of applicable industry experience
You can:
  • Show proof that you have a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrate computer competency
You are:
  • Someone with a solid written and verbal communication
  • Someone with a strong analytical skills to quickly analyze complex situations, determine key issues and messages
  • Someone with strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, risk communication and conflict resolution
The following are considered assets:
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
Working Conditions:
  • Occasionally required to work long hours on short notice.
  • Travel to field locations for emergencies, training, and regional meetings including face time with employees.
  • Office setting (75%)
  • Field setting (25%)
  • Occasional work in extreme cold (-30C) and extreme heat (40C).
  • Work can involve high noise level areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed.Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Balancing, bending, and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
