Supply Chain Assistant

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Assistant. The ideal candidate must be capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, quickly and accurately.
As a key individual in our Supply Chain team, you must be willing to take on, and complete a range of assigned tasks. You must possess excellent written and oral communication skills be comfortable with computers and have an eagerness to learn new skills.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and document all in-coming shipments of raw materials / supplies and out-going finished goods.
- Assist with procurement of materials for manufacturing
- Stage raw materials ahead of production as needed.
- inspection and measurement of parts using calibrated measuring tools.
- Operate equipment safely; load and unload racks safely and complete daily forklift checklists. ( a forklift license is necessary and on the job training will be offered)
- Prepare shipments and accompanying paperwork as required to maintain on time delivery to customers.
- Prepare all outbound paperwork (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Customs documentation) without error.
- Scheduling outbound pick-ups with either customer directed logistics or from list of approved freight suppliers
- Confirm receipt of goods/services matches packing slips; process receipts in ERP system and distribution of documents as needed.
- Inspect all incoming freight for integrity and immediately report / quarantine any damage.
- Participation in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and participate / lead problem resolution when discrepancies are encountered.
- Demonstrate leadership in maintaining the highest standards of, safety, housekeeping and organization, throughout our storage and shipping areas.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
· Must have a secondary school diploma and preferably some post secondary education
- some experience in material handling and a warehouse environment an asset.
- Some knowledge of brokerage/customs/shipping documentation helpful.
- General knowledge of ERP systems, email, copier, telephone functions.
- Valid Forklift license. (can be obtained on the job)
- Good physical condition and strength (must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to perform the job safely and efficiently with a minimum of supervision.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
