Support Worker - Housing Services (Nights Only)

Lift operates many resource centres in our community, including the local WorkBC Centre, the Community Resource Centre, the Family Place, and the Dr. Elsie Paul Literacy Centre and the Nook Social Enterprise Cafe both located at the Powell River Public Library.

The Position

We are looking for 1 full-timeSupport Worker to work at our Supportive Housing and Emergency Shelter programs. In this role, you will provide support and basic life skills to individuals facing multiple barriers. You will look out for the security and well-being of program participants and their living environment by providing crisis response, overdose response, and home support. Overview

• Positions: 1 full-time position
• Site: Supportive Housing and Emergency Shelter
• Hours: 40 hours per week (with averaging agreement)
• Shifts: 8pm-8am

• Hourly Wage: $24.65 per hour ($22.65 per hour base rate + $2 per hour night shift top-up)

• Job Type: Full-time
• Reports to: Assistant Manager - Housing Services
• Start Date: ASAP

• Familiar with local community resources
• Basic understanding of street culture
• Ethically aligned with Harm-Reduction practices
• Demonstrated ability to perform home support
• Reliable, responsive, and supportive team member
• Demonstrates excellent communication and active listening skills
• Demonstrates concise and ethical documenting skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality
• Demonstrates professional boundaries
• Demonstrates understanding of emergency response protocol
• Ability to remain alert and perform tasks in a demanding environment
• Ability to remain calm and responsive during crisis incident response
• Contributes to a culturally safe environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs and walk 3 flights of stairs throughout shift
