Support Worker & Overnights

Purpose: The Support Worker at Red Road Recovery is responsible for providing support and assistance to residents and helping them achieve their recovery goals. We are looking for an Overnight Support Worker to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional and practical support to residents: This includes listening to residents, providing guidance and advice, and helping them to cope with the challenges of recovery.
• Facilitate groups and activities: This includes leading groups, facilitating discussions, and organizing activities designed to help residents recover.
• Monitor and document resident progress: This includes observing residents, taking notes, and keeping accurate progress records.
• Provide crisis intervention: This includes being available to residents and providing support and assistance as needed.
• Work as a team: This includes collaborating with other staff members, including therapists and counsellors, to provide the best possible care for residents.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training: This includes regular and ongoing training to improve professional development and knowledge.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Assisting residents in daily life skills like keeping clean, organizing workspace and rooms, and personal hygiene
• Taking residents safely to and from appointment, activities, and outings

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role in a Supportive Recovery Residence or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Understanding and knowledge of addiction and recovery is an asset.
• Criminal Record Check

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: From $20.00 per hour

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Recovery and 12 Step: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• Naloxone Training (preferred)
