Talent Acquisition Partner

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Partner at AAFS plays a crucial role in sourcing, attracting, and retaining top talent to support the Agency’s mission and objectives. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, building strong relationships with candidates and stakeholders, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout the hiring process. The Talent Acquisition Partner will work closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues to identify staffing needs, source candidates, and facilitate the selection and onboarding of qualified individuals who align with AAFS’s values and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly those related to child protection services.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, recruitment, or HR, preferably in the child protection or social services sector.
- Proven track record of successfully sourcing and hiring candidates for a variety of roles.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience using, and proven proficiency with, applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS software, MS Office, social media and online recruitment tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
- Certification in HR or recruitment (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, LinkedIn Recruiter) is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment practices.
- Must possess a valid Ontario G Driver’s License, be willing to travel and provide a Drivers Abstract
- Cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of Indigenous communities; and
- Ability to speak Objiway is preferred and a definite asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours. Able to work on a computer for long periods of time. Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress. Travel to semi-remote Anishinaabe communities on rough and winding class “C” roadways
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
