As the Tax Manager, you will support all Aramark Canada's lines of businesses and legal entities, including Aramark Canada Ltd., and various First Nations limited partnerships. In this role, you will ensure income and sale tax compliance, support tax audits, optimize tax expense and oversee some of the more complex tax and treasury accounting functions. While this is an individual contributor role; your ability to lead and influence others is very important. Opportunities for growth within Aramark are countless. Please note - this role is based on a hybrid work model, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote (work from home).
Job Responsibilities
Income and Sales Tax Compliance - research and answer any Tax and/or Treasury questions from operations, managers and staff, including requesting government rulings and interpretation of tax legislation, reviewing contracts for tax issues. Ensure sales tax returns and remittances are completed on time. Assist Corporate tax with income tax compliance, including providing information for preparation of tax returns. Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provisions.
Tax and Treasury Accounting - Review and approve various monthly tax and treasury G/L reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy. Establish rates, allocate and reconcile bank and insurance charges.
Manage CRA and Provincial Tax Auditsand Sales Tax Recovery Consultants (both income and sales tax). Engage external consultants as necessary to respond to assessments.

Education
Qualifications
- University or College Education preferably in accounting, finance, tax
- 5 years Tax and Treasury Experience, ideally tax experience in a major accounting firm
- CPA designation would be ideal
