The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Teacher Psychologist or a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Psychologist position commencing Immediately. The successful candidate will possess experience providing a continuum of psychology services to students, staff, schools, and parents. Competency in behavioural consultation and a high level of proficiency with technology are an advantage. The incumbent will have demonstrated sound knowledge and competencies in the practice of psychology within an educational context. You will have experience working with children, adolescents and families as a Psychologist, and in areas related to psychological services. Registered Psychologist will be considered an asset for this position.
Responsibilities
Works with a wide range of school staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans to address the unique learning needs of students using a multi-tiered approach
Collaboratively participates in pedagogical and curricular support, embedded coaching, professional learning, and school improvement planning
Provides consultative, assessment, and treatment support to schools
Maintains proper documentation of services provided to students, schools, and their families
Provides and promotes appropriate professional development opportunities for school staff
Provides at-elbow support for school staff to build capacity around supporting students with exceptionalities
Collects and analyzes data, and maintains records
Designs, implements, and coordinates projects within the division and externally
Maintains and liaises with related professional organizations as required
Education/Experience (Teacher Psychologist)
A graduate degree in educational psychology
Certification as a Psychologist in Alberta
3 or more years experience
Possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide Human Resources with an original of their Teacher Qualifications Service (TQS) document.
