Job description

Who are we?

WAAS Aerospace Inc. has been in operation since 2014 and is a Transport Canada approved maintenance company. We operate from facilities located on the south shore of Montreal at Saint-Hubert Airport (CYHU) and in Quebec City at Jean-Lesage International Airport (CYQB).

We provide line and scheduled maintenance, avionics modifications and research and development services for business and wide-body aircraft. We offer 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services to help customers meet their on-time departure obligations and minimise downtime.

Our parent company, Chrono Aviation, was founded in Quebec City in 2012. In its early days, the company operated a Pilatus PC-12 and employed two pilots. Today, the Chrono Aviation group has a fleet of 15 aircraft and a team of 280 employees.

Role and context

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the Team leader will be responsible for checking, troubleshooting and repairing structural, mechanical and hydraulic systems, in accordance with the specifications, technical drawings, manuals and methods in place, on several types of equipment.

Key responsibilities

•Plan the work to be done for daily and short-term shifts.

•Supervising team members

•Allocating shift work to team members.

•Liaise with operators to assign aircraft for the day or the coming weeks.

•Participate in and promote the 'SGS

•Communicating problems and helping to solve them in conjunction with maintenance management.

•Plan future maintenance tasks

Preparation and checking of work cards

•Completing work orders (processes and policies) in accordance with standards and regulations.

•Ensure that urgent work is prioritised (AOG) in order to meet the current work schedule.

•Attending morning maintenance planning meetings and coordinating teams.

Key skills

Excellent organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team

•Leadership and communication skills

Be efficient and able to multi-task in a demanding work environment

•Have a strong sense of responsibility

Specific job requirements

•Hold a category M1 or M2 Aircraft maintenance Engineer (AME) licence issued by Transport Canada.

•At least 5 years' experience as an AME

•Experience as a Team leader or supervisor

•Certified Aircraft Authorisation (CAA) (or experience)
