Department Overview
The Finance Business Partner teams deliver strategic advice to partners within the Bank, provide effective controls, review internal business cases, build forecasts and foster a rewarding colleague experience. Our Finance team, called TECE Finance, supports Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience, which includes a number of innovative and customer focused business units such as Contact Centers, ATM, Customer Assistance, Enterprise Data & Analytics and Digital Strategy. The team is comprised of energetic individuals committed to creating a high-quality finance support function delivering valuable insights and analysis.
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.
Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Commerce or related field; with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions)
  • Proficiency and experience with Excel and Powerpoint and preferably also with financial reporting systems such as Hyperion, and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OCI)
  • Ability to work with and distill large amounts of data into meaningful information
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines, as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Resourceful with an intellectual curiosity to ask questions about the business and understand the key drivers behind the results
  • Previous experience in planning, forecasting, expense management, consolidation and financial analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

Job Details
The financial analyst intern will support the Senior Financial Analysts with monthly financial results review, quarterly forecasts, and other special projects.
  • Analyze how actual monthly financial results materialized compared to plan, forecast and prior year, and identify key insights in the form of variance drivers, trends, risks and opportunities
  • Assist with consolidation of the monthly financial results and creation of the monthly reporting packages
  • Deliver continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency through on-going enhancements in models, tools, and reporting, to automate, simplify and improve the way we work.
