Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This position supports operational excellence in delivery and support to provide best in class consistency and support to Enterprise & International Applications leadership and its towers for reporting / visualization services. With a focus on identifying and building out Business Intelligence and Insights for the Enterprise & International Applications Delivery (EIA) Teams as part of the EIA Planning Shared Services Team.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop maintain and deliver dashboards, reports and services using Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Accountable for ongoing  management of intake requests, scheduling, delivery  of requests
  • Champion data visualization and dashboard needs with the delivery of any new initiatives on time with high-quality and consistency.
  • Automate processes related to dashboard and reports development.
  • Coordinate, test and implement server or Tableau upgrades for the Planning Technology Infrastructure team (PTI).
  • Partner with other dashboard developers to encourage collaboration, standardization, best practices, problem-solving, solution implementations for the overall benefit of E&IA.
  • Ensure Tableau is optimized for peak efficiency as upgrades and report changes occur and conduct maintenance on all aspects of the supported infrastructure.
  • Explore alternative options and recommend technology solutions and designs that meet requestor’s needs and deliverables.
  • Maintain standards for analysis and reporting at all levels, including best practice data visualization techniques.
  • Delivery with agility and transparency via Identify, document, manage and communicate delivery schedules, issues, risks, assumptions and constraints ongoing.   Seeking management escalation support, as require
  • Coordinate and mature an E&IA Data Visualization Community of Practice

Must-have:

  • Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and data-visualizations with Tableau.
  • Proven knowledge of reporting and metric design and how to mine data and use it to tell a story about the health and status of the environment, platform, methodology or process being reported on.
  • Solid use of MS Office tools, Data Modeling, SQL to query databases, create/update views, data loading, troubleshooting.
  • Data Governance experience, ensuring that all data elements are captured, documented and used correctly across all dashboards.
  • Data Modeling knowledge, for example: What the best practices are when consuming new data and how the table(s) should be created.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated problem solver, who seeks to motivate team members by example.  Strong team player
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration, organizational, skills and time management skills.

Nice-to-have: 

  • Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation.
  • Understanding of Business Management tools: MIS, Planview, RBC Applications Tools.
