The Team

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank's Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses.

The Role

GBME is searching for Technical Specialist Advisory to liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within GBME.

The successful candidate will have a results-oriented and curious mindset with strong technical skills. You will work closely with cross functional teams, including engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop and implement market leading solutions that are scalable and deliver excellence, and value to our business partners and customers.

As part of the role, you'll

  • Deliver effective and efficient technical support to a portfolio of Applications on Salesforce.com
  • Able to articulate user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Participating in walkthroughs/demos of applications during various stages of the project or application lifecycle
  • Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure business specifications/requirements documentation is accurately prepared and comprehensive to support sizing/development efforts and as input to various project documentation.
  • Develop and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.
  • Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.
  • Work closely across GBME technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution. Actively participating in the systems implementation process and have a thorough understanding of the change management process.
  • Configure & maintain Salesforce profiles, permission sets, users and sharing rules to align with business requirements
  • Handling user requests and issues, provide support, suggest workarounds to end users to carry out their business workflows.
  • Review incoming tickets/cases, checking their statuses, and make sure to have the Case management life cycle being followed for correct reporting and dashboards.
  • Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.
  • Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.
  • Perform ad hoc work as needed

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment
  • 4+ years practical experience with Salesforce
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Minimum 3 years' working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, with ability to create and run queries independently.
  • Experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Proficient with Unix Tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.), SQL queries, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader - or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Admin Certification
  • Able to demonstrate hands-on experience with various parts of the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Experience working with, SQL, Permission Sets, Sharing Rules, Omni-Studio, APIs
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets
