Description

Job Posting – Teen Librarian (Full-Time, Permanent)

Do you love innovative programming, young adult literature, and helping shape the minds of future generations? GPPL is looking for a permanent, full-time Teen Librarian to join our team of library professionals. Under the supervision of the Head of Children’s and Teen Services, the Teen Librarian will be responsible for fostering relationships with schools and community groups, and ensuring GPPL provides seamless service by developing and maintaining teen collections, services, and programming meets the community’s needs.

Who You Are

  • An enthusiastic professional keen on fostering positive relationships with Grande Prairie’s youth and relevant organizations in the community
  • An outgoing and creative self-starter, with a passion for teen literature, and experience developing and running programs, preferably for teens
  • A social media savant with experience using TikTok and Instagram in addition to content creation programs like Canva
  • A team player capable of collaboration, seeing the bigger picture, and delivering high-quality results that contribute to GPPL’s success as an organization
  • A proactive thinker with a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degree. Those with a combination of a Library Information Technology (LIT) diploma, relevant experience, and education are strongly encouraged to apply

Position Details

  • Hours of work include a 35-hour work week with evening and weekend work required
  • Salary to be on Grade 4 of GPPL’s salary grid ($55,878 - $74,527) and commensurate with experience
  • GPPL offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous vacation compensation
  • Successful candidates will be required to submit a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment
