1.0 Temporary Itinerant Custodian (CUPE Custodial & Maintenance)

Parry Sound Intermediate & Secondary Schools

Effective Immediately

Qualifications:

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma
• Previous experience in building and grounds maintenance
• Valid Class "G" drivers license with reliable vehicle

Responsibilities:

​

• Perform duties and responsibilities on a day-to-day basis, as assigned, to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: grounds maintenance, waste removal, dust control, glass and mirror cleaning, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, stripping and refinishing of floors, replenishing and maintaining an inventory of custodial supplies, sterilizing and sanitizing fixtures and surfaces.
• Other related duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Services Supervisor, Lead Custodian, Principal, and/or Designate.

Required Skills:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimum​supervision
• Proven ability to climb and work at various heights
• Capable of medium to heavy lifting
• Demonstrated general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other systems

Hours of Work: The 8-hour shift will be between 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. (must be flexible)​

Rate of Pay:$23.55 per hour

A clear Criminal Reference with Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position
