Under the supervision of the test engineer
Essential Functions:
- Perform HT tests on transformers and network equipment
- Prepare test programs with the help of the test engineer
- Perform Type and Routine tests
- Perform high voltage test setups
- Prepare test reports with the help of the test engineer
- Ensure maintenance of test equipment
- Any other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowing the operation of 60 Hz test sources, testing with a 120 Hz generator or more, or testing with a shock generator would be an asset
- Knowledge of Test Standards would be an asset
- Knowledge of HT measuring instruments would be an asset
- Be aware of rules and instructions regarding safety at work
- Be familiar with live switchgear distances
- When required, be able to work near high voltage equipment;
- Basic computer skills;
- Be flexible in work schedules
- Be able to lift loads of about 60 pounds
- Have schedule flexibility to carry out test plans efficiently and with as little disruption as possible; Collaborate with the Production Manager to sequence the work and adapt to changing priorities; Apply and enforce health and safety rules;
- Keep the test space tidy and clean;
- Demonstrate leadership in the laboratory operation and propose improvements to optimize test times;
Education or Formal Training:
- College diploma or equivalent required.
