Topman – Heavy Civil Water & Sewer

Responsibilities:

· Install water and sewer pipelines according to project specifications.

· Collaborate with the site servicing foremen and superintendent to ensure efficient workflow.

· Conducting elevations shots, reading grade, and ensuring pipe is being properly placed in the ground.

· Providing continuous inspections of pipes for cracks or deficiencies

· Responsible for cutting and preparing pipes and fittings for installation.

· Assisting Pipe Layer with installation as needed, locating utilities, and other duties as assigned by the project foreman.

· Cutting pipe to length and preparing pipe and fittings for installation by the pipelayer.

· Securing pipes, manholes and other materials and equipment for the equipment operator before lowering into or removing from the trench.

· Ensuring that materials for the pipelayer and other workers are ready as needed on the job site.

· Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Water and Sewer Topman or similar role with 2+ years experience.

· In-depth knowledge of water and sewer construction processes, regulations, and safety protocols.

· Strong teamwork and communication skills.

· Ability to interpret project plans and work collaboratively with the team.

· Valid Drivers License or ability to report to head office daily and on time.

PPE & Allowance: 214 will provide daily hi-visibility workwear including a $250 PPE allowance for CSA certified work boots or any workwear above and beyond the provided package.
