Who You Are: Ground Effects is looking for a Total Rewards Specialistto join our growing organization in Windsor, ON. The Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible to assist with the administration of the compensation and rewards programs across the organizations United States and Canadian operations. The position will also assist with, which includes pension plan, wellness programs and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability for Canadian operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent field.
  • Concentration in Human Resources and/or Finance preferred
  • CHRP/CHRL or equivalent
  • 4 years’ experience in human resources with a focus on benefit administration, talent and/or compensation
  • More than 5 years’ experience focusing specifically on Total Rewards for a multiple location organization.
  • Ability to communicate effective written and verbally with various employees throughout the organization.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding the processing of health and retirement benefits.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • In-depth understanding of provincial and federal pension plan requirements to ensure compliance.
  • The ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is understandable to managers and employees and to answer questions.
  • Fluent in English
  • Familiar with HRIS systems and employment law
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of benefit programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
  • Excellent analytical skills to research and evaluate benefits programs to make informed choices.
  • Must stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes to help keep the company competitive in recruitment of top management and employees.
  • Must have good decision-making ability.
  • Ability to build long term relationships and put effort in earning trust.
  • Ability to administer and enforce compliance with company policies and procedure.
  • Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
  • Sound knowledge of all HR disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, talent management, compensation, Health and Safety policies and procedures including Workers Compensation
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office.

Job Description:

  • Support day-to-day Compensation Administration
  • Assist with the administration of the annual performance and merit review, bonuses and other compensation processes for Salary and Hourly employees.
  • Maintain job description for all hourly and salary roles.
  • Assist with the job evaluation process for new and/or updated positions for Hourly and Salary employees.
  • Support Rewards and Wellness Programs
  • Coordinate and administer various of employee programs (such as Education Assistance, Professional Development, etc.)
  • Assist with wellness initiatives for all Canadian facilities to help keep health insurance costs down.
  • Assist with educating employees and site HR team members on the impact of current and new wellness initiatives including companywide wellness challenges, initiatives, or new information.
  • Support the administration of the wellness platform by ensuring updated information, communication and/or notifications are provided to employees
  • Support day-to-day Benefits Administration
  • Be the first point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries for Canadian employees.
  • Communicate the details of the benefits program to employees and/or site HR team members.
  • Assist with the employee benefit updates, changes, new hire enrollments, terminations, etc.
  • Assist with annual compliance testing and audits
  • Create information packages to explain changes in benefits to employees and/or site HR team members.
  • Assist with auditing enrollments and invoices; communicate discrepancies to vendors
  • Assist with processing and submitting claims and invoices for payment required weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.
  • Support day-to-day Benefits Administration
  • Be the first point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries for Canadian employees.
  • Communicate the details of the benefits program to employees and/or site HR team members.

  • Ensure compliance with all related company and regulatory policies for compensation, benefits, and pension requirements
  • Gather data from various sources (HRIS, excel, etc.), as well as conduct data audits and analyses to identify discrepancies; coordinate with all relevant parties to make corrections.
  • Assist Manager with any additional compliance requirements at the municipal, province and federal level (as applicable) for Canadian benefits and pension programs.
  • Support HR operations, as needed, with various tasks related to talent, development, training, etc.
