Job description

As the Town’s most senior administrative position, the Town Manager reports directly to the Mayor and Council, and all employees report directly or indirectly to the Town Manager. This is a full-time permanent non-bargaining unit position.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the town, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services to residents and businesses
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote the overall well-being and growth of the community
- Manage town budgets, including revenue projections, expenditure control and financial reporting
- Collaborate with town council members and other stakeholders to develop strategic plans and initiatives
- Represent the town in negotiations with external organizations, such as vendors, contractors and government agencies
- Foster positive relationships with community members through effective communication and engagement efforts
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies at the local, provincial and federal levels

Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a municipal or government setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of residents and businesses
- Ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts in a diplomatic manner
- Experience in team management is beneficial for overseeing staff and driving results
- Must instill confidence and trust in the workforce and be capable of motivating and organizing the senior management team to work collaboratively to support the goals and priorities identified by Council

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, business administration, commerce, public administration or another equivalent area of studies, combined with progressive senior management experience with demonstrated strong leadership, effective management skills, good judgment, a strong work ethic, excellent inter-personal and communications skills and a visionary leadership style
- A suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
- A minimum of five years practical experience in supervision and management in a senior administrative role is required
