POSITION PROFILE:

Our Service Department is looking for a Shop Laborer for our Track Shop who is able to work in a fast paced mechanical shop, provide support, have excellent communication skills and able to take direction well, then this role is for you.

Job Duties but Not Limited To:

• Moving undercarriage components in and out of the Track Shop
• Performing pad transfers and new track group builds
• Operating a forklift as required – training provided
• Using overhead cranes as required – training provided
• Using variety of hand tools, power & air
• Organizing the yard, shop, and work areas
• Assist in washing and detailing equipment
• General cleanup of shop, yard, parts, and machines
• Assisting the Track Shop lead as required
• Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Completion of grade 12 and be mechanically inclined
• Valid Driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
• Self-starter able to follow directions, assist and work under the direction of a Mechanic, Shop Foreman, or Supervisor and possess the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a safe team environment
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
• Experience working within a heavy equipment maintenance environment, basic equipment knowledge, along with preventative maintenance experience would be considered assets
• Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
