Canadian Utility Services is a full-service contractor for transmission, distribution, foundation, forestry, telecommunications and renewable energy sectors.
Traffic Control Person qualifications:
1-2 years Traffic Control experience.
Must have TCP certification.
Have a valid driver’s license.
High School Diploma.
Able to read, write and speak English.
Physically able to lift weights up to 50lbs.
First Aid and WHMIS certified.
Must be willing to travel and stay in camps or hotels as our projects span across Canada.
Duties include:
- Stop, slow, and safely direct traffic through work or construction sites.
- Protect workers in the construction zone by regulating traffic flow.
- Give Traffic Control directions and signals clearly and precisely so that motorists understand their meaning.
- Keep the flow of traffic moving with as few delays as possible.
- Ability to work well within a crew and follow instructions.
- Participate in day-to-day safety and weekly inspections.
- Signage setup and take down.
- Have a safe work ethic and mentality.
- Help supervisors and other operators perform manual labor tasks around job site. Sweeping, raking, and cleaning up of aggregates on job site.
- Use of 2-way radios and communication devices to communicate with other Traffic Controllers and employees on site.
The TCP formally reports to the Field Supervisor and/or Director of Operations.
