General Accountability:
This Training Instructor and Developer will be party of the Training Enablement Team for the Field Business Centres. The team is accountable to design, develop, and maintain training support tools to facilitate the effective deployment of learning programs. The Enablement Team will work closely with Local Trainers to ensure that content is learner focused, accessible, and engaging for the modern learner.
Specific Responsibilities:
-Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of training tools for centralized and decentralized training programs used by internal and external supervisory, clerical, technical and trades staff involved in the transmission and distribution of electricity. Training formats include presentations, written documents, infographics, videos, surveys, and web pages.
-Assist in the development of new information resources (lesson) plans, course content, (quizzes, exams, tests) by applying training theory, technical resources, directives, standards, policies and regulations.
-Utilize cost effective information technology solutions in the training service. Act as the educational design resource for the department drawing on effective design methodologies for teaching adults.
-Assist in the gathering of metrics and data to support effective development and delivery of training plans.
-Maintain site content on the FBC Hub SharePoint site to facilitate access to department-wide documentation.
-Assist in the development and planning of the FBC Hub SharePoint site.
-Ensure efficient operation of training programs by using effective project management processes and tools scheduling, budgeting, preparing special reports and projects, purchasing, ensuring cost and control effectiveness. Ensure clients have accurate and timely reports and records.
-Identify training performance problems and causes, and determine the best solution (eg, training and/or job aids, if problem is a skill deficiency) through consultations with clients, and the application of various analysis techniques.
-Evaluate learning content for effectiveness and efficiency. Report results of investigations and assessments and make recommendations to appropriate line management authorities.
-Assist in the review of the application and effectiveness of the internal training methodologies and recommend changes to achieve industry best practices.
-Perform other duties as required.

Education
-Requires Knowledge of web design, learning experience design, and distance learning technologies, training and development theory and techniques to assist in the design and development of training programs.
-Requires a knowledge of electricity and power systems related to the generation, transmission and distribution, and retailing power.
-Requires a good knowledge of English to make effective presentations, prepare reports and communicate effectively with others.
-This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a three-year university education in a related field (business administration, adult education, media and communications).
Experience
-Requires experience to be familiar with training needs, procedures and practices and implementing training responses. A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
-Requires demonstrated experience working in the Distribution Field Business Centers (FBC) with knowledge in Distribution lines processes related but not limited to: New connections, Upgrades, Disconnect Reconnect, Relocates and Joint Use.
-Requires experience using the critical toolsets of the FBC such as SAP, PCAD, ORMS CAD, GIS and NOMS
-Requires experience using modern learning tools for presentations, graphics, surveys, dashboards, and databases.
-Requires demonstrated track record of providing customer centric service.
-Requires demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual group environment.
-Requires demonstrated ability to work compassionately and empathetically with all levels of learning.
