Salary Range: $69,283.00-$81,510.00 plus overtime and bonuses.

As the Transportation & Logistics Planner, you are responsible for designing all inbound transportation freight layouts, managing day to day mass production activity, and providing innovative design solutions for overall supply chain cost reduction. The position involves both mass production and new model activity working with various groups within the Purchasing Division as well as production associates to problem solve and find the root cause of various transportation issues. The ideal candidate must be very organized, be able to work fast and efficiently on multiple tasks and have strong problem-solving skills. The position requires the associate to be very flexible and willing to work modified schedules on short notice including weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Design transportation vanning layouts for all domestic freight
  • Cube efficiency and rerouting – mass production and new model
  • Day to day network management and carrier liaison
  • Transportation route entry and maintenance
  • Monthly photo audits and KCP reporting
  • Max trailer cubing reporting, maintenance, and management
  • Crisis support and trouble shooting
  • Seat trailer trouble shooting, maintenance and replacement planning
  • Freight profile creation and maintenance – new model and mass prouuction

Requirements:

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing a transportation planning and layout system
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing cost savings ideas related to route design and supply chain improvement.
  • Strong knowledge related to transportation regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, load restrictions and equipment limitations for various regions across North America

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge using Tableau, Power BI or similar database software
  • Strong Microsoft Access and Smart Sheet knowledge
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, project management and teamwork skills
  • Strong prioritization, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience using asset tracking devices (Blackberry or similar)
  • Transportation of Dangerous goods certificate
  • General knowledge of intermodal and ocean freight including Marine Law
  • Experience with the decision analysis process
  • Experience working in a fast paced, results oriented environment
  • Knowledge of overall supply chain and transportation management
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Must Haves:

  • Willing and able to work overtime on short notice
  • Willing and able to work flexible shift rotation on short notice
  • Valid “G” driver’s license
  • Willing to complete yard sweeps and production support
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; valid passport for business travel required at time of application
