Underground Mobile Maintenance General Supervisor (Fly-In Fly-Out)

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will be part of the maintenance Department. The General Supervisor ensures the improvement of his department and prepares efficient operation. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Coordinate the maintenance department for all operations on site;
• Ensure that the maintenance team work efficiently with all resources;
• Prepare the allocated budget and control cost for the upcoming operations;
• Provide specific training and development opportunities for immediate employees;
• Ensure that equipment availability meets or exceeds all production requirements by ensuring that all fleets are maintained in a safe, efficient and effective manner on their shift;
• Provide technical feedback and complete technical bid evaluations for maintenance assets during the procurement process;
• Coach and mentor subordinates in regard to employee relations, safety, environmental, productivity and cost issues and address inappropriate behavior as required;
• Oversee investigations involving safety incidents, accidents and near misses;
• Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
• Recommend procedures and methods to improve employee safety;
• Lead by example and encourage, adherence to Agnico Eagle’s Health and Safety Code of Conduct.

• Professional diploma in heavy equipment mechanics or power mechanics, or equivalent;
• 10 + years’ experience in the mechanical field;
• Proven experience in supervision;
• Red Seal or Journeyman certification is considered an asset;
• Experience in the mining industry with mobile, surface, open pit and underground equipment is required;
• JDE working knowledge is considered an asset;
• Hold or eligible for a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act;
• Hold or eligible for a valid First Aid Certificate;
• Experience working in a multicultural environment;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
• Common Core certificate will be considered as an asset;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

• Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
