Form of workSTEMCELL Technologies is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader for our Business Operations group. The Vice President, Business Operations is accountable for directing, planning, coordinating, and overseeing the long term strategy and day to day operations of Global Pricing, Private Label and Distributed Products, and all administration functions within Business Operations focused on maintaining STEMCELL as a global market leader in biotechnology.
As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in global pricing, including the strategic pricing of new products and services and conducting thorough competitor pricing reviews. You will also be accountable for setting and executing the long term strategy for STEMCELL's private label and distributed product lines to driving their long-term profitable growth. As an inclusive mentor you will also enact and manage appropriate administrative processes and functions for Business Operations, including but not limited to budgeting, staffing, goal setting and review, training, communications, and strategic planning.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement both short- and long-term strategic plans that align with Departmental and Corporate objectives
- Set and achieve departmental goals created in partnership with STEMCELL's Executive team and key business stakeholders, and translate these goals into actionable and measurable programs and projects
- Plan and manage the departmental budget and act as project sponsor for selected corporate projects
- Assess and evaluate training requirements of departmental staff and ensure training and developmental needs are met
- Provide effective leadership, management, mentoring, development, and evaluation of direct reports through regular one-on-one and team meetings and performance reviews
- A PhD in Cell Biology of related Life Sciences discipline is required; an MBA or other formalized business training is an asset
- Demonstrated track record of success (at least 10 years) in related senior leadership role with previous experience developing and implementing successful strategic plans
- Extensive knowledge of Business Operations including the ability to develop and implement successful strategic planning with a deep understanding of finance-related performance metrics including knowledge of best practices in management and governance
- Expert understanding of the global biotech market and business process with a willingness to challenge traditional and adapt innovative strategies to resolve problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Good understanding of strategic pricing principles and how to maximize profit based on cost-volume-profit analysis.

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$163,050.00 - $271,800.00
STEMCELL determines an individual's pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
