Our Corporate Bankers are dedicated to understanding the unique competitive and operating environments of our clients, and to building strong, enduring client relationships. In Canada, we are primarily organized into industry teams focused on specific sectors, covering the largest Canadian companies globally, across a wide range of products including; syndicated loans, foreign exchange, derivatives, cash management, advisory, and debt & equity capital markets. Overview of Role
The Canada Corporate Banking team is looking for an experienced Corporate Banker in Toronto. As an active team member, this individual would assist coverage bankers in the delivery of the full breadth of products and services to clients and prospects. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity for client interaction over a period of time.
Responsibilities
The duties of this role will include but are not limited to the below:
Communicate and interact with client team members from various product groups to build comprehensive client presentations and ensure seamless client delivery
Participate in client meetings, portfolio planning sessions and product partner meetings and be able to identify ideas and cross-sell opportunities; perform various financial analyses, capital structure analysis and assessment of credit quality
Will have active responsibility of completing all client related internal processes like KYC and regulatory requirements
Develop financial models that are used in the preparation of client materials and internal approval memos
Be able to navigate and assist in internal processes including but not limited to capital commitment approvals, client onboarding and ongoing customer due diligence
Responsible for ongoing MIS reporting including revenue tracking, client strategy and pipeline reports
Manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
Assist the Corporate Banking Relationship Manager with the execution and implementation of client transactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic qualifications
5+ years relevant experience in banking or accounting
Must have a combination of strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus
Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills
Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus
Required to manage multiple projects at the same time and work effectively both individually and as part of a team
Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals
Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
Proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Dedication to building a career in Corporate Banking
Knowledge of Financial Institutions, Asset Managers and Governments would be an asset.
