Job Summary
The Virtual & In-Person Events Officer at Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver is responsible for coordinating all aspects of event-related fundraising activities and budgets. This role entails overseeing the strategic planning and execution of various fundraising events, managing corporate relationships and partnerships, and leading event volunteers. Working closely with the Marketing and Development department, the Virtual & In-Person Events Officer manages corporate partnership initiatives and ensures specific event-related funding goals outlined in the strategic plan are achieved. The position requires in-depth knowledge of events planning and logistics, particularly emphasizing virtual and hybrid events using platforms like Twitch and Facebook Live, as well as strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate must be self-directed, process-oriented, and capable of operating at both strategic and tactical levels.

Responsibilities
· Develops and oversees the implementation of the strategic plan for fundraising events, such as the BIG Gaming Fest, Third Party Events, and the Big Brothers Golf Classic.

· Provides direction to the marketing team on promotional materials and communication pieces.

· Manages event volunteers in support of all event related needs

· Manage the BIG Gaming Fest through corporate sponsorships, community gamers, and live streaming process.

· Manage and oversee the strategic plan for the Big Brothers Golf Classic.

· Cultivate new community relationships to grow and oversee Third Party Events.

· Manage silent auction, prizes and inventory of event supplies and materials.

· Plan, coordinate, and execute virtual events, including live streaming and gaming online fundraisers.

· Organize logistics for in-person events, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and on-site coordination.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of events with marketing, communications, and fundraising initiatives.

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with sponsors, partners, and donors to enhance event participation and support.

· Evaluate event success and effectiveness through data analysis, feedback collection, and post-event reporting.

· Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance event experiences and outcomes.

Requirements

Education

· Post-secondary education in a related field

Experience

· 2+ years of experience in event planning/management, non-profit fundraising, or equivalent experience

· Experience working in a diverse environment with staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, suppliers, etc.

Skills

· Proven experience in planning and executing in-person events.

· Experience in virtual and/or live streaming platforms

· Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

· Proficiency in event management software and digital marketing tools.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

· Passion for the mission and values of Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver.

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Excellent volunteer management skills

· Strong database and software management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,900.00-$62,100.00 per year
