The Product Development Officer provides Visitor Experience Product and service development advice, guidance and support to facilitate meaningful experiences for visitors to Kluane National Park and Reserve.

The Yukon Field Unit is one of the most diverse field units across the country.
Geographically dispersed over 1200km across the Yukon, northern BC, and into Alaska, we offer a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors and staff. Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff a full-time term position. (12 months) from April 2024 to March 2025
This selection process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various linguistic profiles and security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (such as Indeterminate, Specified Period, Acting, Deployment, Assignment and Secondment).
Due to the operational nature of this position, remote work options are not available.

A minimum of 2 years postsecondary education or acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in the development, coordination and implementation of Visitor Experience opportunities.
  • Experience in preparing Visitor Experience Product and service analysis, assessments, briefings, plans and/or reports.
  • Experience in collaborating with staff, partners and stakeholders in the context of Visitor Experience;
  • Experience in project coordination.
  • Experience in providing advice to managers and staff.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends that relate to the development and delivery of recreational activities, special events, interpretive products and programs, accommodations, trails, Visitor Experience services and facilities.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the incumbent to:
  • Sit during extended periods (50- 75% of the day)
  • Be exposed to variable weather conditions when moving between facilities and working outdoors
  • Wear a Parks Canada uniform and costume and abide uniform/costume policy
  • Work shift work, and/or evenings, and/or weekends and/or statutory holidays and/or provincial/territorial holidays
