What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:- receive, maintain, and issue stockroom supplies
- check and prepare requisitions
- file orders and replace stock
- verify incoming and outgoing goods
- unload shipments through the use of handcarts, pallet dollies and/or forklifts
- separate, prepare and label good/items according to IATA requirements International Air Transportation Association
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
You have:- You have a valid class G drivers licence as recognized in the province of Ontario.
- You have a valid certificate of IATA (International Air Transport Association) or the ability to acquire one.
- You have a valid Fork Lift Operator's permit or the ability to acquire one.
- You have a valid certificate for Transportation of Dangerous Goods or the ability to acquire one.
Knowledge
- You have knowledge of stock keeping procedures and practices.
- You have knowledge of record keeping procedures (e.g. manual stock ledger, computerized system).
- You have knowledge of supply tracking and inventory control database systems.
- You have knowledge of fleet management systems and the equipment filing systems.
- You have the ability to apply and interpret various acts, policies and legislative requirements (e.g. International Air Transportation Act (IATA), Shipment of Dangerous Goods Act, Ontario Health and Safety (OH&S) act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)).
Analytical skills:
- You possess analytical skills to verify incoming goods, packing slips and purchase orders ensuring accuracy of shipments and for loss or damage.
- You possess good observation and reasoning skills to maintain supplies and stock room, complete orders, properly pack and choose delivery methods for items (e.g. ground/air, proper labelling, speed of shipment method), and to follow up on missing items/packages.
Communication skills:
- You possess strong communication skills to deal with fleet staff/shippers/suppliers and to provide instructions to shippers
Other general skills:
- You possess computer skills to record and maintain stock transactions, update inventory records and enter data accurately into the fleet management system and to use other computer programs, databases, software and internet.
- You have ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires the use of handcarts, dollies and forklift operations in order to move goods.
