Warehouse Material Handler

We are pleased to announce we are expanding our Grande Prairie branch and are looking to add a local talented individual for a Warehouse Material Handler position. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, high energy, physically fit, and takes care and pride in their work.

Position Summary:

As the Material Handler, you will be directly responsible for the picking and packaging of sales orders in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner and according to Comco and customer requirements. You will also receive incoming product and help prepare product for shipping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely picks, packages, and tags products according to sales orders, in an efficient & timely manner;
• Load, unload, and move products by hand or mobile equipment;
• Record all product heat numbers and manufacturers;
• Verify and inspect product according to packing slip and purchase order within ERP;
• Ensure product is properly identified and stored appropriately;
• Communicate any product overages, shortages, or errors directly to the Foreman;
• Assist in resolving problems when required;
• Ensure warehouse is free of debris and hazards;
• Drive company vehicle to customer site to restock product, as required;
• Assist in annual inventory;
• Participate in clean-up and pre-inspection of equipment;
• On-Call / OT hours, as required.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma;
• Work Experience: 2-3 years related warehouse experience;
• Forklift certified operator required;
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract;
• Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift;
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently;
• Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
• Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques;
• Basic mathematical skills;
• Must be able to carry and move product and/or supplies more than 50lbs;
• Physical effort requiring manual dexterity;
• Able to wear required PPE, such as steel toed boots with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, hard hat, and coveralls always within our Operations Department.

NOTE: Due to our location a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle is an asset
