The Warehouse Supervisor implements and monitors warehouse operations. Key responsibilities are accurate and timely product selection and conveyance, proper bag and bulk vehicle loading, packaging material management, and supportive and collaborative leadership. As a part of the operational leadership team, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a vital role in maximizing warehouse efficiency to support customer demand and inventory goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the warehouse team to ensure safe and efficient operational success and prioritization of key company initiatives.
  • Creates operational plans and schedules for warehouse operations and proactively communicates and delegates to employees throughout the site. Ensures operational productivity and efficiency goals are achieved on a daily basis.
  • Creates and sustains an engaging culture for both direct reports and indirect reports to grow, develop, and meet company and career goals.
  • Leads and actively participates in the product selection process that fills customer orders according to customer and management specifications. Communicates product selection tasks to warehouse employees to ensure fulfillment goals are consistently met.
  • Loads vehicles with proper weight distribution and safe loading practices.
  • Collaborates with Production Supervisor on the daily production schedule. Leverages customer order demand and safety stock levels to appropriately plan operational needs.
  • Creates and manages SOPs for warehouse operations, ensuring proper training and process review on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads inventory control processes, ensuring inventory tracking is up to date on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Collaborates with the commercial and logistics team to manage and procure warehouse supplies such as malt bags, strapping, and cardboard.
  • Performs all finished product operations including malt cleaning/blending, truck and rail loading, and screenings loading.
  • Facilitates and tracks compliance for employee training on an ongoing basis, including forklift and safety certification requirements.
  • Understands the significant food safety hazards of work activities and the food safety benefits of improved personal performance. Ensures safety standards are upheld on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs role and responsibilities to achieve conformance with the food safety policy and procedures and with the requirements of the Food Safety Management System including the use of Management of Change documentation as well as the emergency preparedness and response requirements.
  • Does not depart from specified operating procedures without first verifying with operational leadership whether the change will trigger any food safety hazards, adjusts as needed.
  • Reports any unusual conditions in the plant or deviations from requested production parameters to operational leadership.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the company and its operational needs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
  • Associate or Technical degree preferred.
  • 2+ years warehousing, material handling, and equipment experience required.
  • Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing facility desired.
  • Previous experience managing hourly employees.

  • Strong problem solver that can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information, developing alternative solutions, and using analytical reasoning skills to drive groups to a successful solution.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and be on your feet for most of a shift.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use ladders/stairs.
  • Occasionally works in adverse conditions such as extreme weather, at heights and confined spaces.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
