Halifax Seed's Saint John location is currently hiring a Warehouse Supervisor, a one-year term position, suitable for an organized and driven individual to assist in all aspects of shipping receiving, warehousing and inventory along with facility supervision. This position assists and works with the branch teams, in the planning, organization and control of the sites overall operation.
The Warehouse Supervisor maintains all aspects concerning the warehousing of commercial, landscape, and retail inventory in keeping with company policies. This includes bulk pallets, consumer goods, dangerous goods, pest control products and other goods as required. The winning candidate is responsible for the planning, organizing and control of the warehouse's overall operation, including processing merchandise received from suppliers; unloaded, inventoried and paper work processed in a timely fashion to appropriate departments. Responsible for merchandise being shipped out to customers from various departments. This is a physical role and requires lifting up to 70lb, and the ability to work full shifts on the move.
As a supervisory role, the candidate is willing to step forward in all situations to ensure adequate coverage so that all aspects of the department are met. The Warehouse supervisor is expected to set an example for all behaviors and be above reproach to all employees. This position reports to Chief Procurement Officer, and supervised by the Branch Manager.
· Accurate and safe handling of receiving and shipping of goods
· Accurately completing paperwork associated with daily tasks
· Assist with customer pickups and customer loading
· Inventory control and site management
· Daily retail store replenishment
· Assisting in retail warehouse organization and improvement
· Assist the teams in the set up and layout of space management within the warehouse, yards and sheds.
· Maintain seasonal housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area (ie. maintenance, mowing, snow removal as required).
Skills Required:
· 2 Years warehousing experience
· Read, write and communicate in English
· Experience in Syspro inventory management software an asset
· Ability to work well with others on a team as well as independently
· Can lift up to 70lbs
· Valid Forklift license
· WHIMIS and TDG considered asset
