POSITION: Wastewater Treatment/Collection Operator

The East River Environmental Control Centre, a division of the Pictou County
Shared Services Authority is currently seeking a skilled, energetic, and professional individual to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment/Collection
Operator. This is a technical, team-oriented position requiring the appropriate knowledge and hands-on skills to monitor, operate and maintain Wastewater Treatment and Collection assets: 16500 cubic meter per day Treatment plant, 17 pumping stations and Collection system.

The ideal candidate will have a Technical Diploma, community college technical program applicable to water/Wastewater Treatment or related discipline. Possess valid Nova Scotia Environment (NSE) Wastewater Treatment/collection certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hiring within a set amount of time. The successful applicant must have a valid N.S. driver’s license and knowledge of wastewater testing and maintenance techniques. Ability to use computer programs for process control as well as Microsoft software and maintenance programs. The position shares weekend, holiday and on call coverage on a rotating basis as well as shift work.
