Description
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Responsible for the intake of social assistance clients and issuing of cheques and purchase orders to the band membership;
Conduct interviews, home visits, filing, maintaining proper records;
Interpret Social Development Policy and regulations to clients for their understanding of the purposes, services, procedures and requirements of the program.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1-year certificate in Social Services or related field
Previous experience or training in Social Services;
One to two years training in Social Services;
Experience working with databases, Microsoft Office Word, and Outlook;
Ability to deal with the public, excellent communications and organizational skills;
Valid drivers license is a must and access to a reliable vehicle are preferred;
Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
Ability to provide satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Local Police Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Drivers Abstract.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential;
