We’re looking for a Woodlands Operations Supervisorto join our High LevelWoodlands Team located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenureand fibre supply in Northern Alberta, covering an area of 3,794,652 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Forestry.
- Seasoned forestry professional with 7-10 years of experience (will consider those with less experience).
- Experience in managing projects.
- A proven record of leading a team to success.
- Proven conflict management skills.
- Strong relationship building skills across all stakeholder groups.
- Unwavering commitment to safety while working in the field.
- Self-directed time-management skills.

In this role you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of our valued contractor relationships.
- Manage the planning and development of cutting permits while working within Tolko’s Forest Stewardship Plan.
- Oversee quality control and work with other professionals including RPFs, RFTs, hydrologists and biologists.
- Build relationships with local contractors, stakeholders and First Nations communities.
- Supervise harvesting and hauling contractors while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Communicate with First Nation partners and other stakeholders including tenure holders landowners, government agencies and communities.
- Have a good field-to-office balance with an expected 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days in the field each week.
- Be empowered to manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly so you can enjoy the benefits of a flexible schedule.
