Yard Helper/Fork Lift Driver

Job Summary

• Receive (unload) incoming supplies and put them away.
• Supply and service various on site shops - deliver supplies and store products.
• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads.
• Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
• Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements
• Inform appropriate department of any missing or damaged items.
• Keep storage yard area clean and organized
• Make sure materials and finished products are stored in a safe area and under cover if necessary
• Pack and organize sub-assemblies to make completed items on work orders
• Daily safety inspection of forklifts, and maintain proper fluid levels in forklifts
• Ensure scrap metal/wood is placed in correct bins and arrange for pick up when they are full
• Inform appropriate department of any missing or damaged items.
• Notify appropriate department when stock is running low

Job Type / Category

• This is a position at our manufacturing facility in Lakefield Ontario.
• Regular hours Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays during peak season. This is subject to change to create overlapping shifts when business levels require more coverage.
• You will be operating a fork lift out side in various weather elements.
• Will be reporting to Yard Foreman
• Heavy Lifting may be required

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem-solving techniques.
• Possess a valid motor vehicle license (G Class) and be insurable under R&J Machine’s company policy.
• Valid Fork Lift License
• Previous Fork Lift experience in a yard envirnoment
