Technical
- Good knowledge of regional and local financial markets, economic disciplines and regulation.
- In depth knowledge of investment industry products and services
- Thorough familiarity with the group’s investment policies, philosophy and strategies
- Familiarity with the modern portfolio theory and with portfolio optimization techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with Morningstar, eVestment, Bloomberg, Trade Order Management Systems is a plus
- Familiarity with programing languages is a plus (SQL, R, PYTHON, MATLAB …etc.)
Areas of Focus & Analysis for the Investment Policy Team includes, but is not limited to:
- Develop and test investment models to assist new investment solutions development process
- Conduct back-testing of the proposed investment strategies to leverage investment expertise and risk management culture to the benefit of our clients
- Assist in maintaining and improving portfolio risk monitoring practices within RBC GAM by enhancing the risk metrics available to entire organization
- Assist in improving the characteristics of RBC GAM’s numerous wrap solutions by recommending portfolio changes such as fund additions/removal, geographic asset mix changes or glide path adjustment
- Work on process and data flow automation in the Investment Policy area
- Participate in the Investment Policy statement development process for funds and segregated accounts
- Assist in monitoring trading activity within RBC GAM, including best execution monitoring and exception reporting analysis
- Act as a liaison with RBC GAM IT team for developing and/or implementing new applications
- Engage in various front office projects
