Accountant (Entry Level)

Lindan Equities is responsible for full-cycle accounting for a group of 40+ related companies. These companies vary in size, industry, and operations. You will be responsible for all data entry requirements in the accounting for these companies.

Specific Accountabilities

Full Cycle Accounting including:

Accounts Payable

• Enter all invoices into respective companies, ensure accuracy for correct company and job costing
• Enter all credit card receipts
• Cheque runs
• Direct Deposit payments

Accounts Receivable

• Generate invoices as required
• Scan cheques
• Bank runs
• Post deposits

Credit card batches

• Enter and review daily credit card batch reports.
• Identify the company each transaction belongs to and properly record transactions in all companies involved. Review work to ensure intercompany balance and proper project costing

Reconciliations

• Banks
• Credit Cards

Filing

• Keep all filing up to date
• Maintain and organize filing room

Monthly accounting reports

• Month end reporting
• Update working papers monthly to ensure accuracy of GL accounts, such as prepaids expenses and deferred revenues

Other duties as assigned

Experience:

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting
- Any work or Co-op experiences are assets
- Strong knowledge of financial services and accounting principles
- Experience in using accounting software such as Sage 50, QBO or similar systems are assets
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
