Accountant

Overview

We are looking for a full-time Accountant (CA or CPA) to help our CEO run our businesses, while reporting to the Executives and Office Manager and supporting the whole organization. You need to be an outgoing professional, who can still thrive in the fast paced but casual environment of our 5-person team. You must enjoy research and be detailed orientated. You will also contribute strategically helping us manage revenue and costs. We own and operate Peters’ Drive-In in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton and commercial real estate leased to retailers such as Starbucks and EDO Japan. We also run a merchant banking operation supporting a number of private companies, including an oil and gas directional drilling business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. General job description:

· Full cycle accounting

· Preparation of GST returns

· Visa sorting

· Quickbooks entries online for a group of corporate entities

· Bank reconciliations

· Daily bill and invoice payment and posting

· Preparation of weekly AP payments for review and approval

· Project costing

· Provide information to our external Accountant for year-end reporting

2. Work hours & benefits:

· Full-time, permanent 9am-4pm

· Expected start date: immediately

3. Education, experience, and licensing requirements:

· Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or related field

· Previous bookkeeping experience

· Word and Excel

· Quickbooks 2 years experience

Salary: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
