Reporting into the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Accounting Associate will play a fundamental role in the success of the Accounting team, and the greater organization. This position is a hybrid role, expected to be in the office 2 to 3 days a week.
We are looking for a person who is extremely detail-oriented, takes initiative, is organized and a self -starter who can work independently and as well as part of a team.
How you will make an impact:
- Providing initial assessment of all financial results – working directly with management to utilize financial results and trend analysis to inform executive leadership
- Processing invoices relating to several channels of business and several entities
- Processing employee expenses and credit card transactions
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes including reconciliation of GL accounts
- Processing intercompany invoices and reconciling intercompany accounts
- Reconciling Cash deposits to Sales invoices
How your time will be organized as an Accounting Associate:
- 30% Completing month-end close responsibilities including reconciling multiple general ledger accounts
- 30% Processing invoices relating to several business channels
- 10% Income Statement analysis and review
- 10% Assisting management with financial analysis and ad-hoc requests
- 10% Processing employee expenses and credit card transactions
- 10% Reviewing and Processing bank deposits relating to sale invoices
What your first couple months will look like:
In your first 30 days you will:
- Learn the fundamentals of the business, including the accounting policies and procedures in place
- Familiarize yourself with our ERP system, and learn the ins and outs of the Accounting team
- Build the foundations for the future success of this position
In your first 60 days you will:
- Assume ownership of sales channels reporting and invoicing
- Assume ownership of employee expense reporting and approvals
- Complete Reconciliations of assigned GL accounts for review to finance management
In your first 90 days you will:
- Assess financial results and develop trend analysis for finance management
- Improve processes and drive efficiency on the Accounting team and broader organization
- Design new processes for ongoing innovation

Preferred qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Mathematics, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar Accounting related role
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
