Position Details
The Financial Services team is accepting applications for an Accounting Clerk III to start as soon as possible. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain and Payments, this position is responsible for issuing payments to suppliers for goods and services provided to the University. This position will also be responsible for the diligent verification and issuance of payments to these suppliers.
The duties of this position aim to maintain positive working relationships, minimize payment risks, meet legislative requirements, and provide efficient, effective, and consistent services.
Position Qualifications
The successful candidate has a college diploma, plus a minimum of 1-2 years Accounts Payable or related accounting experience that demonstrates:
Knowledge and sensitivity for fraudulent activity
Advanced computer skills; specifically with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of the Excise Tax Act (GST/HST) and basic Canadian tax legislation
Ability to gauge and articulate the impact of transactions on results
Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive transactions
The successful candidate will complement their technical knowledge in accounting with a proven ability to work in a close team environment, using exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and drive. The incumbent pays close attention to details and is highly organized. Though the department has resources to respond to many situations, professional judgment, problem solving, and issue identification are essential skills for the incumbent. This is a fast-paced dynamic environment, where adapting to change, managing deadlines, and the ability to respond positively and professionally under pressure are keys to success.
Preference may be given to those with work experience in a post-secondary setting and knowledge of Banner software.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $3,640.00 - $4,050.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $3,640.00 - $4,460.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 7)
