- Oversee and supervise the successful execution of the Accounting team’s operations.
- Build strong relations within Finance and with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work in a dynamic environment, ensuring agility to meet the growing and changing needs of stakeholders.
- Develop talent through coaching leadership, identifying strengths within the team and encouraging professional growth.
- Provide conflict resolution and team-building skills, serving as a role model and imparting knowledge to junior team members.
- Manage month, quarter, and year-end close activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare the Accounting department’s annual budget in collaboration with the FP&A team.
- Approve reconciliations and investigate unusual balances or variances.
- Maintain ledger accounts and related work tags.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and communicating with auditors.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring efficiency and effective controls.
- Centralize accounts payable through automation technology.
- Administer the billing process and oversee corporate credit card administration.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and thresholds.
- Oversight of A/R collections and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes.
- Creativity in designing and delivering process improvements to improve team efficiency
- Consider right sizing financial controls, ensure key controls are effective and any controls that are made redundant because of automation or process changes are removed
- Other projects and duties as assigned
- A professional accounting designation (CPA) and a university degree in Accounting and/or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a finance team
- In-depth working knowledge of core financial systems and understanding of process automation capabilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to act as a business partner to internal and external stakeholders
- Display an agile mindset to accommodate a dynamic environment
- In-depth knowledge of indirect tax
