Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant with Education Services at our Central Office in Morinville. Sturgeon Public School Division has a proud history of serving approximately 5200 students across eighteen schools in Sturgeon County and adjoining municipalities and is committed to fostering critical thinking, student engagement, and innovative critical thinking skills.
The role of the Administrative Assistant is to pursue Sturgeon Public School Division's mission of creating safe, respectful and collaborative learning environments where students and children are prepared to meet and excel at the challenges presented by the global community. Reporting to the Director of Education Planning, this role contributes administrative direction and support to the Education Services department.
The Administrative Assistant must carry out professional responsibilities and provide services in accordance with Sturgeon Public School Division policies, ensuring that these activities are within the limits of their knowledge, experience, and skill. This role provides assistance to the Education Services department and contributes in all day-to-day operations to ensure an effective and responsive service delivery. Duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Support the coordination, scheduling and planning for team meetings and professional development opportunities, for both Education Planning and Learning Services
Maintain and update resources on Google drives to support the various cohort groups
Organize events by reserving the appropriate venues, making arrangements for caterers and other requirements
Order and purchase materials, code and submit invoices to Accounts Payable
Support the Team with VISA administration and submission of documentation
Provide registration information for conferences, register and book accommodations
Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Education Services department as required
Assist the Executive Assistant in managing correspondence, scheduling and documentation for the Education Services department
The successful candidate will hold a Diploma in Business Administration or Certificate in Office Administration. Minimum two years experience working in an administrative setting.
Salary: $24.90 - $30.46 per hour, 17.5 hours per week, benefits and pension as per the General Employment Conditions.
