Custodians

Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking three (3) Permanent Full Time Custodians for work assignments at Bon Accord Community School, Lilian Schick School and Sturgeon Heights School. These non-union assignments are subject to change based on operational requirements.
Bon Accord Community School offers K-4 programming and is located approximately 20 minutes north of the City of Edmonton in the Town of Bon Accord. The school has a student population of approximately 240 students and a dedicated teaching and support staff working together as a team to provide exemplary education to all students.
Located in the Town of Bon Accord, Lilian Schick School is a Grade 5-9 school with a student population of approximately 240 students. The dedicated staff work together as a team to provide strong academic education, including non-denominational Christian faith based (LOGOS) programming. At Lilian Schick, we provide opportunities for students to learn and grow, make healthy life choices, and achieve their goals.
Sturgeon Heights School is located within the city of St. Albert boundary and is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school with approximately 450 students. Sturgeon Heights School encourages students to be critical thinkers, engaged in their own learning environment, and creative with their problem solving.
FTE: 1.0 FTE Full Time Permanent
Rate of pay: $3,378.82 - $3,961.23 per month, as per the General Employment Conditions
Assignment:
Responsible for the supervision of the evening caretakers and the general cleanliness of the school. Maintaining the cleanliness of the school through:
Cleaning of washrooms
Mopping, sweeping, waxing and vacuuming floors
Washing walls and lockers
Removal of garbage
Other related duties as assigned
Experience:
WHMIS Certification
Extensive institutional cleaning experience
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and acts
Mechanical aptitude which includes the use of floor scrubbers and polishers is an asset
Applicants must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
