Job Overview
Working with general supervision, this role contributes to Wawanesa’s success by providing mail services and administrative support to all Wawanesa Life departments
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
- Record, research and locate by phone or email missing clients for which mail has been returned, updating policyholder contact information when located
- Maintain mailroom to ensure supplies & paper documents are re-filed daily
- Cross train to cover tasks for incoming & outgoing mail procedures
- Assist with annual file purge and off-site storage
- Assist with special mailings as required
- Ensure customer satisfaction for all internal and external stakeholders
- Provide relief to reception as may be required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- One to two years' experience in an administrative capacity is an asset
- Willingness to enroll in, actively working towards or completion of LOMA Level 1, 280 and 290 is an asset
- Good computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required
- Experience in searching for information on the internet with the ability to learn new systems/technologies as required
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate at the right level for the audience, including telephone skills
- Creative problem solving skills to interpret the needs of customers and resolve their issues
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review information carefully and comprehensively
- Comfortable working under pressure and handling stressful situations in a professional manner
- Good time management and organization skills by performing well and being flexible in times of pressure and change
- Ability to contribute to a positive work atmosphere in a deadline driven environment
