The Rural Municipality of Kinistino No. 459 is looking to hire a Summer Student who is wanting to learn and grow within Municipal Government. Hourly wage for the selected applicant is set at $19/HR, 8 HR workdays to maximum of 40 hours/week. Contract position runs May 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024.
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Strong organizational background equivalent to a 3rd or 4th year post-secondary education program with preference being given to business administration.
* Must be a student enrolled in a Secondary School, Community College or enrolled in a University Program.
* Experience in office procedures. Well-versed in Windows, MS Word and proficient in Excel and have some experience in website creation and maintenance.
* Effective office time management, and have good organizational skills.
* Diplomatic, tactful, creative, discreet, flexible, resourceful, dependable, well-organized, friendly, emotionally mature and professional. Maintains confidentiality.
* Must possess and maintain a valid Province of Saskatchewan or equivalent drivers license.
* Experience with and knowledge of operating heavy machinery considered an asset.
On-the-job training is provided and may include, but is not limited to:
* Communicate with the public and staff
* Sorting and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
* Answering phones to take messages or redirecting calls to the appropriate colleagues
* Maintaining files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
* Operating basic office equipment
* Perform data entries; may include civic addressing and mapping
* Filing-paper management
* Website development and maintenance
* Create, improve and maintain a variety of spreadsheets on Excel
* General labourer duties and other duties as assigned.
