SUMMARY:Repair, overhaul and maintain agricultural equipment including tractors, tillage equipment, seeding equipment and harvesting equipment. Agricultural Equipment Technicians may specialize in service and repair of fuel injection pumps and injectors, engine overhaul, hydraulic systems, power shift transmissions or specific types of equipment (combines, forage harvesters, tractors, etc.).
JOB DUTIES:
- Diesel engine repair including fuel injection, exhaust, cooling, air conditioning, lubrication, and engine control systems
- Major internal engine repairs, system overhauls, and installation and alignment of engines and machinery
- Mechanical maintenance and repair including transmissions, drive trains, final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, differentials, and brake systems
- Powered equipment repair including hydraulic operated working attachments
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment t detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults and/or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Test repaired equipment for performance and to ensure work meets manufacturers specifications
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
- Service equipment attachments and working tools
- Verify and repair emission control systems
- Attach components and adjust new equipment
- Document repairs and services performed in maintenance reports
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Agricultural Equipment Technician certificate or diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years agricultural equipment mechanic experience (e.g. JCB, Krone, John Deer, CASE IH, Deutz-Fahr)
- Intermediate level of English language
- Valid Driver's license
- Able to work in a physically demanding and noisy environment (handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling)
- Able to lift 45kg/100lbs
