Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in environmental monitoring? AECOM is currently seeking an Air Quality Monitoring Specialist to join our team at our Calgary, AB location.
Responsibilities:
As an Air Quality Monitoring Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Supporting Ambient Monitoring Network
Utilizing knowledge of traditional and innovative monitoring technologies
Coordinating field measurement programs
Conducting troubleshooting, equipment calibration, and data collection
Analyzing data and conducting uncertainty analysis
Preparing technical documents and reports
Participating in field work as required
Utilizing various data analytical software including Excel, R, and Python
Demonstrating soft skills such as project management, leadership, and teamwork
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related discipline
4 + years of relevant experience
Must be willing and capable of travel, working outdoors year-round, climb ladders and stairs, and work at elevated heights
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree/PHD in Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
6 + years of relevant experience
Experience with FTIR, low-cost sensors, optical methods, and remote sensing
Knowledge of laboratory methods for Air Quality sample analysis
Experience in installation, operation, and decommissioning of ambient air monitoring equipment
Proficiency in data analytical techniques and uncertainty analysis
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Initiative and interest in professional development
Technical report writing skills
Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and hoisting test equipment weighing possibly up to 50 lbs.
