• Lead the development of the ministry's Business and Fiscal plans and Treasury Board submissions
• Lead the development of and provide advice to senior executives on ministry responses to government fiscal management planning strategies
• Lead the analysis of financial planning and performance, and provide advice to ministry program areas, including recommending business priorities and options to meet ministry strategic objectives within fiscal boundaries
• Provide advice, subject matter expertise, and recommendations to ministry management and central agencies on effective business planning and analysis
• Communicate business plan requirements throughout the ministry, and/or with ministry agencies, and ensure that central agency planning requirements are met
• Lead assigned project teams, including development of plans, coordination and oversight of activities/resources in order to ensure delivery of quality outputs within required timelines
• You have knowledge of budget allocation/tracking processes, expenditure forecasting and variance/risk analysis.
• You can interpret and apply ministry legislation, policies, standards, priorities, and government policy direction.
• You can evaluate and assess ministry financial and program performance, assess cost efficiency and risk potential of program design options/activities, and provide related recommendations to senior management.
• You can assess and monitor appropriations, allocations, and expenditures.
• You have experience with managing projects and leading a team of professionals to support various ministry initiatives.
• You can develop project plans and provide technical guidance to team members on initiatives supporting the fiscal to ensure outcomes are achieved in a timely fashion.
• You have effective consultation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to influence specific courses of action to accomplish major deliverables throughout financial planning.
• You have experience using tact and diplomacy when discussing complex and sensitive matters amongst stakeholders with competing interests.
• You can use specialized databases/financial information systems to conduct research and analysis and prepare reports.

• You can interpret and apply ministry legislation, policies, standards, priorities, and government policy direction.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
• You have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to anticipate and evaluate complex situations, and potential impacts and identify solutions.• You can evaluate and assess ministry financial and program performance, assess cost efficiency and risk potential of program design options/activities, and provide related recommendations to senior management.
• You can assess and monitor appropriations, allocations, and expenditures.
Leadership and project management skills
• You can lead project teams to support the approval and implementation of financial and resource decisions, including central agency approvals of the ministry's fiscal plan.• You have experience with managing projects and leading a team of professionals to support various ministry initiatives.

Communication and interpersonal skills
• You have strong oral and written communication and presentation skills to draft clear and concise products to present complex financial information to a variety of audiences.• You have effective consultation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to influence specific courses of action to accomplish major deliverables throughout financial planning.
• You have experience using tact and diplomacy when discussing complex and sensitive matters amongst stakeholders with competing interests.
Computer skills
• You have experience using standard desktop computer applications (e.g. word processing, presentations, spreadsheets).• You can use specialized databases/financial information systems to conduct research and analysis and prepare reports.
