Job Summary

To join as an Analyst for the ECM and Corporate Broking team within investment banking. You will support ongoing coverage of corporate clients, the origination of deal flow and the execution of transactions for our clients.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Assist with the creation of pitch books and other client presentations
  • Conduct financial analysis (including but not limited to valuation, shareholder and comparable analysis) in order to generate insights relevant to our clients
  • Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments relevant to our clients
  • Assist with the execution of ECM transactions
  • Provide support on the origination and execution efforts of other teams within the investment bank
  • Maintain databases of European ECM transactions
  • Compile regular European origination and execution activity reports
  • Liaise with Equity Sales to assist in gathering investor feedback and the distribution of transactions
  • Liaise with other product groups within RBC as required
  • Assist senior team members in providing guidance on the application of the FCA Rules, AIM Rules, the Takeover Code and corporate governance / investor guidelines as required

What do you need to succeed?

  • BA or equivalent (2:1 or above) from an academically renowned university together with a proven track record of academic excellence
  • Fluent English speaker, with other European languages being advantageous (but not necessary)
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, research and communication skills
  • Experience in investment banking or wider financial services
  • Strong interest in and understanding of equity markets
  • Proficiency in applications such as Bloomberg, FactSet, CapitalIQ, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • An inquisitive personality with a drive to continue learning
  • Strong teamwork mindset with an ability to work well with other team members at all levels
  • An ability to manage multiple competing priorities and a willingness to assume a high level of responsibility
  • ACA or CFA strongly preferred
