The Analyst, FX Sales & Derivative Products Group will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the FX Sales & DPG team by providing support to senior salespeople as they help multinational corporations and commercial accounts manage their FX and Rates exposures.
What You'll Do:
-Develop a strong understanding of financial markets and what drives global interest rate levels and FX price movement
-Deepen client relationships by providing backup coverage for senior sales staff where needed, including fielding incoming client inquiries, calls or trade requests
-Perform daily tasks such as monitoring option expiries, generating reports, and maintaining trade databases
-Produce economic reports and presentations for internal and external partners 
-Become proficient in Bloomberg in order to assist with pricing, data collection and analysis
-Collaborate with colleagues in the client ecosystem including Corporate and Investment Banking, Trading, Risk and others
-Protect the Bank from loss and/or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies and regulations as applicable
What You'll Bring:
-Undergraduate degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, other), Mathematics, or other quantitative program
-Master’s degree in relevant field is an asset
-Experience in FX or derivatives sales, other capital markets, Commercial or Corporate Banking is an asset
-Team player who has a proven track record of collaborating with others
-Can maintain a calm disposition in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to quickly and effectively respond to enquiries with confidence
-Highly organized and results oriented with demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a constantly changing environment
-Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis in particular - Computing programming skills (ex: VBA) would be an asset
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-Accuracy, timely processing and attention to detail is critical
Workplace Environment:
-Fast-paced, ever changing environment where teamwork and a collaborative mentality is essential (trading floor)
-Ability to multi-task, adapt to change and manage time effectively

-Ability to work extended hours, where a typical day is from 7am to 5pm EST

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English, and they will serve French and English-speaking clientele.
