Tim’s is leveraging the relationship we have with our guests to extend our value by providing highly personalized and curated advertising-based offers as part of our guest experience. 

To help us with this endeavor, we are looking for a high-energy candidate, excited to build new innovations for both our restaurants and our guests. We’re quickly expanding the team and need an Analyst, Retail Category Managementin our Toronto office. The Analyst, Retail Category Managementis an exciting opportunity to createhigh-quality general merchandise retail products. You will assist in the development and creation of the category and channel strategies.

What you’ll do:

Business Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor key trends, brands, and competitors’ performance through regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) data collection and analysis.
  • Analyze the performance of product mix plans while proactively managing the introduction/discontinuation/optimization of the product mix within assigned categories
  • Pre and post analysis of key item performance, marketing spend and media effectiveness, pricing strategies and market share.
  • Assist category team in creating ad hoc reports and doing deep dive analysis for brands to create insights that inform future assortment strategies and plans.

Category Management

  • Support Category Manager in developing business cases and strategic 3-year plans for the assigned Category portfolio in order to advocate for new platform launches, limited time offers (LTOs), promotional tactics, digital initiatives, and optimization of assortment strategy
  • Leverage guest research to develop strong business plans and marketing campaigns, while collaborating with Consumer Insights team to build a pipeline of future research to be executed for ongoing Category learnings
  • Liaise with Marketing, Social, Digital, and PR teams to develop holistic campaign briefs and ensure timely execution of all campaigns
  • Liaise with Cross Functional Partners including Quality Assurance and Legal to ensure all programs meet our standards
  • Visit trade shows, and industry events and recommend/implement innovative and profitable merchandising ideas and solutions

 

Administrative Support

  • Create and disseminate business updates and presentations for cross-functional teams on new product launch, marketing activity, program performance and results.
  • Manage all item set up forms and ad-hoc information requests.
  • Maintain internal collateral (presentations, research, reports, brand guides, etc) in clearly organized locations.
  • Invoice Tracking with Vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Vendor onboarding document management; tracking all the forms and status between vendor & internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with the Calendar Planning team to effectively roadmap initiatives within the Marketing calendar
  • Manage and track product samples throughout product development lifecycle

What you’ll bring:

  • University degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Category Management, brand management or marketing in Retail, CPG, or QSR industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, with a focus on: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • High analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical abilities combined with creativity in problem solving
  • Highly organized and motivated with a desire to outperform
  • You have strong time-management and organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • You’re resilient and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment working on multiple and competing projects simultaneously, with a sense of urgency and thoughtfulness.
  • You have strong critical-thinking and conceptual problem-solving skills. You are be able to debate complex issues, ask the right questions, interpret data and synthesize learnings and think outside the box.
